MP Bacon secures new speed limit for Shelton

SOUTH Norfolk MP Richard Bacon has succeeded in obtaining a reduction in the speed limit outside Shelton with Hardwick Community School near Long Stratton, following meetings with the local community and the police.

Following pressure from the South Norfolk MP, Norfolk County Council are planning to introduce a lower speed limit outside the school.

Growing concern

Mr Bacon has sought a change in the law in light of growing concerns over the number of deaths on South Norfolk's roads.

Father-of-three Andrew Mason from Dickleburgh was killed when his motorcycle was hit by an elderly driver.

Mr Mason's mother, Jennie and his widow, Mairi, asked for  the South Norfolk MP's help.  Mr Bacon arranged for Mrs Mason to meet top police road safety experts.

Mr Bacon has now called for a change in the law.
