LOCAL MP Richard Bacon joined with head teacher Mrs Rosemary Allen, staff, students and dignitaries to celebrate the opening of the new multi-purpose classroom block at Hethersett High School.

Mr Bacon joined invited guests, including Councillor Patrick Hacon, Chair of Norfolk County Council and Director of Children’s Services Lisa Christiansen, as well as school staff, governors and pupils for a brief ceremony, after which Richard unveiled the brass plaque that will eventually be mounted at the entrance to the block.

Afterwards, Richard was taken on a tour of the new buildings, including the new science laboratory, and listened as staff described what a boost the new facilities would provide.

Mr Bacon said: “It is a delight to visit Hethersett High School again, and I was honoured to be asked to open the new block. The teachers and students are clearly itching to make the most of the splendid new classrooms and I wish the school every success for the future”.
